Geosolv Team Member Serves Local Families
It's not news that Geosolv is all about collaboration, connectedness, and fresh ideas. Recently, though, team member Tralen Palmer, carried our values beyond the maps and spreadsheets and right into his own community, hosting the 2nd Annual School Supply Drive in Houston, TX.
Community Comes Together for Successful Back-to-School Drive
The spirit of community was on full display as the 2nd Annual School Supply Drive brought together families, volunteers, and local organizations with a shared mission: ensuring students start the school year confident, prepared, and supported.
From the moment the event kicked off at 10 a.m., the atmosphere was filled with energy, laughter, and gratitude. Parents and children lined up early to receive free school supplies, hygiene kits, and snacks, all generously donated and distributed by the partnering organizations. Clear colored backpacks, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and other essentials filled the tables, ensuring that students of all ages walked away ready for the first day of school.
A True Partnership in Action
The collaboration between Table & Key, King Levi Masonic Lodge, and Ketjen Company proved to be a winning combination. Volunteers from each group worked side by side greeting families, organizing supplies, and making sure every child left with a smile. The Masonic Lodge provided additional manpower and community outreach, while Ketjen Company & Geosolv LLC. contributed both resources and funding to help make the drive bigger and better than ever.
Making an Impact
This year’s drive reached hundreds of local students, surpassing last year’s turnout. Many parents expressed relief at the financial help, noting that rising costs have made back-to-school shopping more challenging. Beyond the supplies, the event created a sense of belonging, showing families that their community cares deeply about their children’s success.
One parent shared, “It’s more than just the supplies—it’s knowing we’re not alone. These organizations are showing up for our kids.”
Looking Ahead
Table & Key’s founder emphasized that this event is part of a larger commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment. Plans are already underway for next year’s drive, with hopes to expand outreach even further.
The success of this year’s School Supply Drive stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when businesses, civic organizations, and community members work together. As backpacks were slung over small shoulders and thank-yous exchanged, it was clear: the first day of school will be a little brighter for hundreds of Houston’s students.
